The Health Star Rating system Calculator and Style Guide (Guide) contains important information on calculating Health Star Ratings correctly and on the application and presentation of the Health Star Rating system graphic on product packaging. The Guide should be read before using the Health Star Rating Calculator and artwork file.
The Guide outlines the steps required to determine a Health Star Rating and subsequently assign a rating to a food or beverage, including example calculations. It also provides specific information on:
- categorising foods
- products that are excluded from applying the system,
- decisions that have been made regarding specific food components, and
- design elements and how these can be used on product packages
Use of the Guide will allow the Health Star Rating system to be implemented accurately and consistently.
